Swapping out with a newer Ipad setup

Hello,

 

I currently have a Gen 1 stand with an iPad Air, we're getting another iPad with more memory to swap out the current one.  Is there a way to save all the hardware settings when I install the newer Ipad into the stand so it will auto detect?  Or do I need to start from scratch and manually add all the hardware (card reader, printer, cash drawer) into the Square app?

@Hazehookahcafe That depends.

 

If you are using your iPad with Square POS, then unfortunately there is no way to transfer those settings. You have to set them up again from scratch.  The few times I’ve done this, I did screen shots of all of my settings screens to guide me.  It worked fine even if it was a little time-consuming and clunky.

 

However, if you are using your iPad with Square Register, then the settings are saved in your Device settings on your online Dashboard.  You just have to reset your device code for that device, then sign into Square Register using the new device code.  Most of your settings will be transferred, as it were. You will still have to set up things like hardware settings (printers, card readers, etc), but most of the settings for things like Checkout, etc, will be replicated.
