The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Liability Waiver
Hello;
We are in the service industry and need clients to sign a liability waiver. Does Square offer or integrate with a 3rd party app which would allow us to upload our liability waiver.
Thank You
if you are using invoices you could set up contracts and or waivers that are attached to the invoice. here is more info https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/6302. this does not work with Square POS though.
yeah, that feature isn't a part of Square POS directly but you could use an app to track that. there are quite a few waiver apps and websites online to handle that part. I just did a google search and see there are some options to handle this, hopefully, you can make one of them work for you.
Hi @twistnsnap! Regrettably there's not a way to add a check box for your customers when they confirm appointments. Although I can definitely see how this would streamline your booking process.
I moved your question to this thread so you can check out some of the workarounds given above. But in the mean time, I'll make sure to let our Product team know that this is something being requested.

Thank you for the input. Just to add some additional information. We are an All inclusive sensory gym for children. We require new customers/clients to sign an initial waiver. Need this to be part of adding a customer with the ability to track that the customer has signed the waiver.
Thank You

How can I add a button for clients to accept a release of liability on checkout? Needed for cash and cc sales
This reply was created from merging an existing thread: How to add a release of liability
@Inmotionpbs There isn't a way to add a button for this with the Point of Sale app. I've moved your post to this thread where other sellers have shared workarounds that might help you in the meantime.
If we wanted to put this on our appointment booking where would we put it
I agree that to ensure Whiskers & Coffee remains a comfortable space for kittens and humans alike, that all visitors in my party are 7+ years old and that any visitors 12 and under will be accompanied by at least (1) adult.

We are a rental and adventure company and we need this option as well. A liability waiver that requires a digital signature would be so helpful.
Thanks for adding your voice to this request, @Aoafun. Should anything come down the pipeline for waiver availability, we will be sure to update everyone here. Thanks, again!
Hi, Just wanted to see if any updates had been made with this? I would love to add a liability waiver to my Square Appointment online book process. Right now the workaround is I put the liability language in my "cancellation policy" text box. This is fine except when the customer checks the box "I have read your cancellation policy" I would like it to say "I have read your liability waiver and cancellation policy"
thanks!!
Hmmm @HMBDogSports-
Have you considered using contracts with Square? Or is that what you're already using?
You can create the following and edit the language as needed:
Let me know! ✨
Thank you for your reply Isabelle! I had not known about the contract option with Square. I did look into and spoke to the help center but I don't think this will work for my needs. From what I understand about the contracts is that I have to email the contract to each customer. I would like my liability release to show up at the time the customer is checking out and they can just click on a box that acknowledges that they read and agree with the release. Right now, that is not an option with Square. The tech made a note to see that feature can be added.
thanks!
Ivette
Has this been addressed yet? This is exactly what I'm needing. If I create a link to an event, I want to add a waiver for them to sign when they checkout. I don't see how that is possible, even using a 3rd party until after checkout. Which I do not want.
Hi @PureVirgo,
Thanks for getting in touch! We don't have an update on contracts being attached to the online checkout process at the moment.
For now, you could use Square Appointments as a workaround, where you can make sure that customers sign a contract when they make their booking. Let us know if this could work for your business! We're still tracking this as a feature request, and will highlight this feedback with our request.
PS. I noticed it's your first post, welcome to our community 👋
I want to echo the need for a liability waiver to be signed. Especially with Square events now being an option in your Item Library, it would be so helpful if a customer could agree by checking a box to our liability waiver. We run a youth activity program and it would be a huge convenience to not have to go between Smart Waiver and Square. I am not happy with the current waiver integration apps square has available. I don't feel as though they are as competitively priced nor as user friendly as I have found Smart Waiver to be.
Following.... We run multiple camps and sign up runs through our site. We would like to eliminate the extended process by having an accept or decline...check box. It would be so convenient if a customer could agree by checking a box to our liability waiver.
If there was an option for you to choose contracts to be automatically sent for certain things that would help!
I need to be able to send aftercare instructions at checkout automatically and also a consent forms when they book an appointment (option to upload driver’s license photo or scan it to auto create a customer profile also would be helpful). If the contracts that are sent for booking would attach to the customer profile once signed and had a few extra features then that would make things easier
Has this feature been added yet? Is there a way to add a check box for a liability waiver at the time of booking?
Hi there @swagsite thanks for following up on this.
With Square Appointments, you can automatically send digital contracts once a new appointment is booked with your business, by enabling this feature on your Appointments Dashboard.
You can read more about this feature and how to set it up from this article in our Support Center.
I hope this information is helpful but please do let us know if you have any additional questions.
Has anyone had success with integrating Waiver Electronic into their Square POS? Was is user friendly and advantageous to do so? Or is it just as well to use the waiver app separately alongside Square? I can't even figure out if it costs more to integrate it?
