Inventory Management Options

Hello,

I wanted to reach out and see which inventory apps people are using, like Intrakr or Shopventory, and your opinion on them.

My biggest issue with the built-in Inventory Management for Square is the inability to manage the inventory through the app.  It'd be great if I could scan a barcode and then update the count right within the app, rather than having to search for something manually through the website.

Does anyone have any suggestions for improving this or have a particular Inventory app they like best?

Thank you!

I am curious as well. It would be very nice to allow us to scan inventory in using a barcode scanner within the app itself.

Great question, though  you can't add to your inventory by scanning items, scanning an item at the time of purchase will deduct inventory.

We don't currently have an integration or a timeline for you, I'll send this request over to our Product Liaison team! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, we love hearing what our merchants are looking for!

In addition to updating inventory, it would be great if it could also show the barcode # in the item list.

I'm currently using Quickbooks online and there are a few gaps.  The items will synch after midnight so the report is never real-time.  Also the quickbooks name and the square name have to be identical as QB does not identify based on the sku.  Using QB still requires a great deal of work as QB lacks many features that are needed.

A barcode scanner would be great to update inventories when received, as well as to automatically make updates after a physical inventory count.

I purchased the socket mobile 7, the dyno label writer and the Motorola scanner all in the hopes to be able to scan manufacturers label into inventory into square, print the labels and then scan out. I can't seem to accomplish this as I planned. I wanted to avoid the data entry part of inventory. Does anyone have any suggestions on if this could work before I send it all back?

@Market119 - Since the Socket Mobile 7 enters data “as is” into the active cursor field of any iOS application, you could just open up the Dashboard using Safari, and then scan the numbers into the SKU field in your item library. 👍

Ok so I have to enter the item into square dashboard on my Mac. I then go to the item on the iPad to sku then I can scan and the barcode pops in. Is there a simpler way to maybe do mass entries? Also how do I import into the dyno label writer so I don't have to enter again in there?

@Market119 - Since any changes made on the dashboard automatically sync to the app, there's no need to re-enter it on the iPad. But what I was actually suggesting was to use Safari on the iPad (not your Mac). As for your printing question, I don't have any experience or expertise with that. Some sellers were discussing labels in this thread. It might be worth tagging on of them in this thread, or commenting there.

Hope this helps!
