Include modifiers into loyalty rewards redemption.

I would like to be able to add modifiers as part of my loyalty reward redemption levels. For example, many of my items are based on cup size. There are no prices attached to these specific items. The price is applied by the modifier. Because the menu item (modifiers) differ in price, I need to be able to specify how the modifiers are redeemed by loyalty points. I hope this makes sense.

Hey @sodanerdy

For cup sizes and bigger things like that, I would recommend using Variations rather than Modifiers.

Variations are still under the Item, similar to Modifiers, but Variations have set prices rather than just adding onto the price of the original item.

Variations can absolutely be incorporated into your Loyalty Program, since on that level they act basically like items. This is what we do, and it definitely works!

Let me know if you have any questions!

I hadn't thought of using variations. I'll look into that. Thank you!

@pessosices, so to your point, I think variations will work for me, but I loose the "item" inventory feature because the inventory then breaks down to the variations level. I.e. my item is a 12 oz. cup, the variation is the liquid I'm putting in the cup (coffee, soda). I don't need to track the liquid, only the cup. I think I could use the inventory in reverse. When stocked with say 500 cups, my inventories start at zero then go negative based on orders. When I restock or do inventory, I can compare the negative usage number to cups in stock. Then adjust inventory based on restocking amount. Unless there is a way to keep the "Item" the master. Thoughts?

Not sure if I completely understand.

With variations, the inventory is tied to the variations vs the master item. If your variations are the sizes, then that should work for you because you’d track the number of cups for each size independently.

So isn’t that good?

You can use the item level or the modifier level for the product inside the cups.

Item = Whatever you want / product

Variation = Sizes

Modifiers = Whatever you want / Product

What are your goals with loyalty? Maybe I misunderstood your original post.
