I'm new to this online community. Any helpful tips would be great.
Welcome to the Square community.
When it comes to promoting your online store there are a lot of avenues that can be used that won't cost very much or anything in some cases.
First, do you have a brick and mortar location or are you online only? if you're a brick and mortar you can utilize window/checkout space to promote your site. I include our site on the receipts so that people are more likely to remember it.
For "free" or low cost advertising, I recommend
*posting on your local neighborhood Nextdoor, their ad services are hit or miss.
*Make T-shirts with your company and website and wear them every day, all day.
*Engage your friends/family but don't "expect" anything, everyone is busy and one of the hardest lessons I've learned is no one will be as passionate as YOU about YOUR business. Ask for honest feedback from friends/family in order to improve your product/site.
My go to paid advertising is google because you can target your ads, only pay for performance, and generally see results.
I actually avoid social media like the plague because unless you're a trend or have deep pockets it can be more of a racket than a beneficial advertising solution. In my decade plus experience of online social media advertising it leads to a lot of fake engagement whenever you pay for it and as soon as you cut off paying that engagement drops to near 0.
Depending on your product you might want to look at farmers markets (I know it's getting a bit cold), selling wholesale, or seeing if you can do a pop up shop inside of a retailer.
Best of luck!
