Can Email Coupons (Lapsed Customer -$5 Discounts) be redeemed on our website with Online Orders?
With COVID, we have become very reliant on our Online store to take orders in our storefronts, we recently came across the issue with an Email Marketing Coupon from a Lapsed Customer ($5 off Coupon) come through in the seller notes of the order.
I could not find any articles or answers as to whether this coupon can be used on the online store when a customer places an order - As you know, these emails generate individual codes for the customer's profile to welcome them back after they've lapsed after 6months. We know how to enter these in-person, but want to know if it is possible for a customer to use it when they order online from us from our website.
Our solution was to refund the order $5 to honor the discount, and as you can tell this isn't a feasible way to track the coupon and do on every incoming order with a discount code - This information would be really helpful because 70% of orders are now placed online ahead of time vs. in-store.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @Vibehealthbar!
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. Good question.
Yes, we provide sellers the ability to create Square Online coupons to be sent via Square Marketing. The instructions for how to do so, are here.
However, you may have noticed that Square Discounts created in Square Dashboard > Items > Discounts are different from coupons and as of right now can only be used for in-store POS purchases.
Does that answer your question? Please let me know if not 🌠
