An item and its variations must have the same description.

I'm importing an item list that I had exported from square.  I updated all the Item's Names to be different.  My Item's have different names and there are no variations.  Not sure what's going on?

What was exported?  

Did you have Different Item names and different Variations in the export but not in the Import?

I am not exactly sure what your Question is but I do know when you import a NEW item the TOKEN column should be blank.

So by you changing an items name maybe you need the Token to be blank other wise it might try putting the newly named item as a variation if you exported file had it as a variation?  IDK

Screen shots would help or a better idea of what your trying to accomplish may help others with answering your question.

Ok, so the latest thing that I have done,

Exported from square as excel

Opened in Google Docs

Changed prices

Downloaded as an excel doc

Imported into Square to modify

Everything worked

I then started copying codes that should be in description and not SKU over and I did the first 200

I received an error about 178 and 179 couldn't have the same Item Name 

So I changed to add a 1 after the item name on row 179

Now I'm getting "An item and its variations must have the same description." again.

But they aren't a variation, they are two different items.

What happens from your Item Search for the Item Big Brother 2?   do you get two items or just one?   I had this before and can't remember what I did to fix it besides looking in my Square dashboard at the items actually were in there 2 times or I had an item as a variation when I did not want it

Try deleting the items in the Square dashboard for items 178 and 179..... then import the excel file after removing the tokens for 178 and 179?   then new tokens will be created for these 2 items?
