This is ridiculous. I run over 300k in cc sales through your system and have used you for 6 years. I now have customers turning away. Time to start exploring alternatives.
They don't compensate us for the time when they are down either. Been with them since the beginning, it's not getting any better.
So have I, and when they are having issues, you can't get through to customer service even if you want to.
We do around $800K in cc sales every year. I’m going with pay pal as a backup. They have a terminal reader very similar to the square terminal so the salon staff should have no trouble learning to use it.
Yeah it's ridiculous Square down all the time, it's the lost business, of course, customers complain to us and turn our store into the protagonist of the bad service.
Migrating everything to Shopify online store and in-store payments. Square has been bad for business for over a year now plagued by service disruptions.
It is nefarious that this status page/site is so difficult to find, and not linked to directly from Square's main website and easily discovered from the nav/menus of Square's various software offerings.

This is loosing small businesses sales. Why does this keep happening? Ive been using square for 14 years. We can't keep turning customers away that don't have cash or a check.
We totally agree with you. There should be an alternative default payment system, in addition to 'offline mode' ready for when Square goes down. They should prepare it now, because it will go down again.
I have a new venture and suspect that the website showing products and categories is not being updated due to system downtime. I cannot go live with deliveries as key products are missing, plus photos, wrong prices. Totally unsatisfactory, for a major organisation like Square they need to address these issues and communicate what is being done. I developed the website with a page linked to Squareonline. It should work best because we sell using Square terminal inside the shop, so prices don't need to be recopied to another online shop like shopify. As a former IT analyst it seems there us a management/ resourcing problem in Square.
There are too many instances of down services, so I'm done. I am migrating my business to Shopify, a snap for our online ordering system, and happy they have also their retail POS, hope square's constant downtimes are a thing of the past once I migrate...

I have been experiencing Square Appointments loading slowly for most of the week. I have tried to load the calendar on two different devices using two different logins and it's the same problem. Has this issue been reported somewhere? issqareup.com reports that everything is normal. This is not normal for us.
