Square Google app download issues

When I try to download the square app from Google play store it gets stuck waiting for download. I don't have this issue with other apps. I tried clearing my phone's cache/Google/etc. I'm running Android 9 on a moto g6. I wouldn't think square is updated beyond that, but if so perhaps provide me with an older ver link and link to last very in play store?
