How to Create and Manage QR Codes with Square

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: How to create a reusable QR code

I am a photographer i want to create a QR code that i can display in my studio so once i sell wall art and packages my clients can scan it type in the amount and pay via their phones.

The only way i can see to do this as price will vary from client to client is the donations section. But this isnt a donation.

Is there any other way to be able yo do it

Hello @Daniellep247, I see this is your first post on the Square Community. Welcome!

To my knowledge, QR codes are reusable unless you have it setup to expire after one use. Possibly one of the steps you may be missing is you will need to enable the self-serve ordering fulfilment method from your Square Dashboard or your Square POS app.

To do so from your Square Dashboard, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Items & services (or Items & menus or Items & inventory) > Items.
  2. Select an item to edit the details.
  3. Under Fulfilment, click Edit next to Online fulfillment methods.
  4. Check the box next Self-serve ordering and click Done.
  5. Click Save.

Once you have setup this portion, then you will need to Enable QR code ordering.

Here are some steps on doing so:

  1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Online.

  2. Select Fulfilment > QR code ordering.

  3. Select Set up QR codes by the location you want to enable QR code ordering for.

  4. View a list of your items available for QR code ordering, then select Continue.

  5. Customise messaging instructions for placing and getting orders that your customers should follow, then select Continue. You can also add messaging for when you’re not accepting orders. (See screenshot below.)

  6. Click Add ordering stations to start creating ordering stations that match the setup of your business. If you’ve set up QR code ordering previously on a different location, you can click Import groups from location to use those ordering stations. When you’re done setting up ordering stations, click Continue.

  7. Set QR code ordering hours, or import and customise the pickup, QR code ordering or business hours of another location. Choose your location’s time zone and select Continue.

  8. Set your text message alerts, order ticket preferences and click Done.

  9. If prompted, click Go to Website, switch your page type to Order Online and publish your Square Online site.

So that I do not overload this thread with too much information, the remaining steps on downloading and managing QR codes are available through this helpful guide here: Setting Up and Managing QR Codes with Square Online. You will want to start off from Step 3 within the Support article.

Let me know if this all helps! If not, I can definitely look into this further for you.
