How can I import inventory items without creating variations?

I'm new to Square and switching over from Lightspeed.  I run a bicycle shop.  We have tons of small parts in our inventory, but very few items exist as "variations." Lightspeed has a feature like this, and I've only found fit to use it on two occasions.

When I imported my inventory via the template, Square seems to have created several identical variations for every single SKU.  (I left the "variation" cell blank in the Square template.)  How can I avoid these needless / incorrect variations?

@Cool_1861 Square has a default variation, called "Regular."  I would try replacing the blank variation with "Regular," then importing.  That should fix it, but let me know if it doesn't.

Thank you, that worked like a charm!  Also led me to figure out how to "downfill" a cell in google sheets by typing "Regular" and double-clicking the dot in the bottom right-hand corner of the selected cell.  Thank goodness I didn't have to copy/paste the word "regular" 1600 times.  I am slowly learning how to spreadsheet XD
