First time set up. Nothing works.

I am flummoxed. Can’t get through simple set up. All the “help” I find is not set up for new users. For example, how do I know if I have a 1st generation reader? 

During set up I accidentally unchecked Bluetooth. There was no way to recheck this option. 

setup now says that reader works but I have 2/5 more tasks to complete. Which ones? I don’t know.

 

so far this is beyond useless. Any guidance is appreciated.

This setup info is what we used and explains the difference between 1st and 2nd generation.

 

Suggest reading through the setup details and checkout the video first.  After that you should be ready to just simply start over.

 

First delete the Square POS App.

Next ensure that you have completely setup your Square Account.

Next, restart your phone - or just power off and power back on - this gives you a clean start.

Check your phone settings to ensure that Bluetooth is enabled.

Then download and install Square's POS App

Follow the Setup details.

 

Most of us here are volunteers and own small businesses - many have hands-on experience using Square's Apps and Hardware so we can help with lots of issues.  The one thing we can't do is look at User Account details - only Customer or Tech Support can do that.
