Touchscreen Laptop as KDS

Is there any possibility to use a touchscreen laptop as the kitchen display? We have an iPad hat we're using and I'm waiting to get the KDS going but don't really want to buy another iPad. My laptop is touchscreen so in theory it should work, but I can't figure it out.

Hey @bussintacos.  This is not possible.  Also, KDS no longer is supported on iPads.  KDS is ONLY support on Android tablets.

Chiming in, because this hardware lock-in is a common frustration and there's a
way to reuse what you already own.

TheRealChipA is right that Square's own KDS is Android-tablet-only now, which is
exactly why your iPad and your laptop get left out.

Full disclosure, we build Small KDS (smallkds.com). It connects to Square and
runs on the iPad you already have, plus Android tablets and Amazon Fire TV, so
you're not forced to buy another device just to get a kitchen screen. Aussie-built
and low-cost.

Straight answer on the laptop: a touchscreen laptop as a KDS isn't something we
support today, so I won't pretend it is. But you've already got an iPad sitting
there, and that's the easy path with us, no new hardware.

Happy to walk through the Square connection if it helps.
