Shipping charged via the POS "Shipping" button is currently rolled into Gross Sales in the monthly summary report — there's no way to split it out as its own line in that view. To see shipping separated, you'd need to use the Sales Summary report in Square Dashboard (not the printed monthly report), which does break out shipping as a distinct line item.
The tax issue — this one you can fix
Square has a specific setting to exempt shipping fees from tax. Here's how to enable it:
1 Go to Settings > Account & Settings > Payments > Sales Taxes
2 Under Shipping & non-physical tax overrides, click Manage settings
3 Under Additional settings, toggle on Exempt shipping fees from tax
4 Click Save
This tells Square not to apply your sales tax rate to the shipping amount at the transaction level — so you're not collecting (or remitting) tax on shipping going forward.
