Items no longer searchable within selected category?

Hello fellow square POS terminal users!

 

With the recent update, it looks like they removed the feature where you are able to search for specific products in a selected category, without pulling it from other categories (not sure why this was even removed).

 

This makes it really challenging for us because we have different pricing for the same item, but in different quantity/sizes. So now, we have to go through each item 

 

We reached out to square, but they recommended posting about it in the community pages for square feedback

 

Anyone have any issues / easier solutions? Renaming ALL our products (which we have probably over 1000), just seems daunting..

Hey @user409, thanks for hanging in there while I got back to you, and I really appreciate you flagging this.

 

I’ll be honest, I’m not familiar with this change, so I want to make sure I fully understand what has happened. In the Square app, when you go to Items > Categories, you no longer have the option to search for specific items — is that correct?

It's when we are trying to cashout customers on the POS!

 

In the homescreen (or in the library tab of the dashboard), we have categories created for our products. We usually select the categories there, and search by typing in the product name (ex. chamomile). However, it pulls up ALL chamomiles in the entire inventory, instead of those tagged in that specific category. 

 

Hopefully that makes a bit more sense!
