Feature Request - Case Cost Input

One thing that would be incredibly helpful in the retail industry is a Case Cost section.

I would say 4/5 of my companies only list the case cost of a product on the invoices, being able to quickly tell if my costs have gone up is critical.

It wouldn't even need to be tied to the quantity on hand or the cost per unit.

If my case cost is set to $22.43 on an item and I receive a new box of product and it's $26.55 I can quickly visually see the difference.

Currently I have to have a calculator because it only shows unit costs and in the same example it would be like $1.06 per unit but now I'm seeing 26.55 per case.

The amount of time a case cost feature or internal notes section on the main item screen would save is immense. I'm processing on average thousands of items a week and the costs change fairly frequently.

Seconded! This would be immensely helpful, especially as this feature would mean that items could have a "case quantity" attached which would save me a lot of time when placing purchase orders.

Most of my vendors sell items in specific quantities (usually increments of 12 or 25), so when putting together a purchase order in Square I have to look at a spreadsheet where I have the case quantities listed for each item.

Having case cost and case quantities as a factor in inventory would save business owners like us time and money.

Hi @PartyManiaMD & @londontea - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Square Seller Community.

At this time, the ability to generate a Case Cost report is a feature request. Although this feature isn’t currently available with Square, it’s a great idea and I can see how it would be beneficial to your business.

I’ve shared your feature request with our Product Team, as they are constantly improving our products based on feedback like this. To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates, here, in our Seller Community. You can also check out our available reports through Square for Retail here.

We appreciate your input.
