Hello!
The Square Terminal is useful to track employee sales as they enter their PIN and make a sale.
These sales are associated to an employee and that shows in the Team Sales report.
However, anything sold using an Invoice won't be associated to an employee. Therefore, it's impossible to associate the work and sale from an invoice to an employee.
Is there a way to associate an invoice to an employee so that it shows up in the Team Sales report?
If not, what would you recommend to achieve that goal?
Thank you!
Hi @Velo- Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Square Seller Community.
At this time, this would be considered a feature request. Although this feature isn’t currently available with Square, it’s a great idea and I can see how it would be beneficial to your business.
I’ve shared your feature request with our Product Team, as they are constantly improving our products based on feedback like this. To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.
I'm not sure that we have a way to work around this one, since sales are only attributed in the Team Sales report when a sale is assigned to a specific Team Member when linked to their passcode. The only thing I can think of is to do a sale for the cost of the Invoice and then not collect payment on the Invoice itself. But that seems more counter-intuitive...
In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates, here, in our Seller Community. We appreciate your input.
Thanks for this input.
The idea to ring the invoice amount in the Terminal would allow to associate that amount to an employee with the PIN. Then, the invoice can be marked as paid, with payment method being "Saqure PDV" (that option prevent doubles).
However, that option is available in the Dashboard, but not in the phone app. That would bring more work to make sure all invoices are marked as paid, and it would be a bit annoying as the customer wouldn't receive the confirmation instantly.
Considering all this, the easiest solution currently would be to make a homemade report crossing the Team Sales report with a little custom spreadsheet listing the needed invoices, their amount and the employee that did the work. It can be done at a preferred interval to minimize the hassle.
