Hi Folks,
I'm currently trying to set local (Australia) and international shipping rates for single items, however square will only let me add a singular item to one shipping profile.
Is there anyway around this, or am I doing something wrong?
Reason I need to set rates for singular items is because I have a range of items that differ significantly in size and weight. For instance CD's, Vinyls, Guitar Picks, T-Shirts, ect.
Having a local shipping rate of $10 makes sense for Vinyls and T-Shirts, but is too expensive for CD's and Guitar Picks. And likewise, have any international rate of $20 for Vinyl and T-Shirts makes sense, but is too expensive for CD's and Guitar picks.
Any help or advise anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated, as I am currently unable to offer my items internationally through my site.
Thanks,
Shaun
Hey @shaunkirk,
Thanks for writing back in, this is a great question!
Could a weight-based shipping rate work for you? While an item can't be assigned to multiple shipping rates, you could consider having your smaller / lighter items set up this way so you can offer a shipping price point that makes a bit more sense when customers purchase multiple items as well. You can then still set up an international shipping rate, too. Let us know if this could be a workable workaround for you, and hopefully some other sellers shipping internationally can chime in here, too.
I think it's very poor than an ecommerce platform in 2024 does not offer - as a very basic feature, I would've thought - the ability to set multiple shipping rates for a single item. Ready to leave and find another solution after discovering this after spending weeks trying to get an SSL certificate issue with domain migration fixed. My bad, I guess, for assuming something... for what is otherwise a seemingly good platform with lots of features, this miss is going to see me leaving for another platform. With only a week to go before a new product launch, I hope I can get it all up in time. Only thing I'm grateful for is that I had held off uploading a stack of products while the SSL was being fixed.
Hi @crankinhaus, thanks for posting.
I've followed up on your post and Katie's response directly on the thread here. Let us know if you have any more questions.
