Navigation Menu - Navigation Name Already Exists

I am creating a navigation menu for my clothing retail website.  I have top-level menus for Baby Boys, Girls, etc. and then within each I have sub-menu for Tops, Bottoms, Two-Piece Sets, etc.

I am running into an issue where I cannot create the same sub-category across each of my main categories.  For example, I cannot have Baby Boys -> Tops  and also Girls -> Tops.   Once I try to create the Girls -> Tops, then I receive an error stating the "navigation name already exists".   The only way around this seems to be creating a more specific name, but that also makes the user experience within the menus cluttered and confusing.

Is there a way to create standard sub-category names that can be used across the navigation menus but still link to the actual individual categories?

This screenshot shows the sub-categories within the Baby Boy main category.

This screenshot shows the updated names for the same sub-categories with the Girls main category.  Ideally, these names should match across main categories without having to modify them.

This screenshot shows the error I receive when attempting to save the the standard sub-category name.

Square won't let you have 2 categories with the same name. The way we do ours is under the Girls we have Girls shirt, Girls pant setetc, then under the Boys we have Boys shirt, Boys pant set..etc.
