How to arrange your online store Alphabetically

So I wanted to share this for those who struggled like I did. I have had my online store through square for just under a year now, and when I started it I was able to arrange my items for my online store alphabetically. I noticed recently that anytime I added new items, they would not list alphabetically online even though they were sorted alphabetically in my dashboard. I came to the square community for help, and while there were a lot of helpful suggestions, none of them worked. My online store did not have some of the options I was supposed to look for to arrange my items and I found out today that it was because I had to switch my template from online ordering to "shop all". I don't know what that has to do with it, but it was the only way I could find the arrange button for my items. 

 

So if you're trying to do the same, click on your website editor, and in the page drop down, click on Home and then search for Shop All or you can scroll down to Category Pages and click "Shop All" and then choose "item list" and choose Arrange Items. 

IF YOU DO NOT SEE "SHOP ALL", but you have an "ONLINE ORDER" page, you need to switch the template to "SHOP ALL" in order to find the arrange items button. To do this, go back to the page drop down and click on "online Order" - next the page drop down there is a settings gear, click on that and choose switch template - switch to shop all. Once you do that, you will be able to follow the above instructions to get the arrange button to appear.

First, I wanted to say, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and these steps, this is incredibly helpful for other Sellers who may be running into the same issue. You’re absolutely right: in some cases, the Online Ordering template doesn’t include the option to manually arrange items, even if they’re sorted correctly in the dashboard. Switching the page template to Shop All is the key to unlocking the Arrange Items button, and your step-by-step explanation is spot on. 

 

I’m glad you were able to get this working, and thank you again for sharing such a clear walkthrough, this will definitely save others a lot of time and frustration!
