Anyone else not able to update Categories today on Online?

Trying to add/update categories for items this morning, and the "Categories" button is greyed out on all items. Any existing Categories still show as tagged, but unable to edit/tag additional ones.  Have tried on multiple devices - appears to be a web issue. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Thanks for reaching out, @CLW 👋

 

This feature has been updated, and will now be edited from the Square dashboard under Items > Categories. 

 

Categories will automatically sync to your Square Online site, and you will also see an option to prevent the category from displaying on the site if you choose.

We had the same problem today, before I came here to check, I just did a bulk edit and changed the category that way.

An employee categorized an item incorrectly and I need to update the category, but when I am in the item there is an edit button for category but it is not working, even though it appears to be active. Please help!

Hi there @Grant1885

 

When you go to Categories in the Dashboard and click on the category you are wanting to fix, do you see where it says "Add or remove items"? This is where you would uncheck the box for the item you are not wanting in that category.

Weird. Now that I did that long way, the edit button in the item is working as I expected, and I can make the change with two clicks! Yay!
