URGENT: No Option to Print Receipts from Transaction Menu

We have connected our Terminal to our POS and have selected the option to print receipts. However sometimes we press New Sale and the customer asks for a receipt. When we go to the Transactions menu and press New Receipt there is no option to print. We really need this to work again. It used to work when the Terminal was in stand alone mode.

The Terminal is in sync mode so there are no settings available on the device. I am trying to print from a tablet running Square POS.

Our team confirmed that they didn't take away any features related to this. At this time, if you want the Terminal to print from the Transactions screen, you can disconnect the Terminal and use it as a standalone to print.

They didn't provide me with any info on whether or not this is a feature that we will be implementing but I'll let you know if I hear anything further on that piece.

Yes I have. It will print from the receipt prompt screen that customers see but there is no option to print from the Transactions menu.

 

I have wasted several hours on phone support with no solutions to issues I bring up. Figure this is the only other way to get help.

I spoke to a member of our hardware team and they confirmed that printing receipts from the Transactions menu while your Square Terminal is connected to a Point of Sale is not available at this time. I'm currently reaching out to our product team to see if this is a feature they are currently working on and when it may be released, if so.

Could you confirm whether you're trying to print from the Transactions page of your Terminal or the Point of Sale?

I don’t know what that means.

That is an impractical solution that cannot be done with a customer standing in front of you asking for a receipt. 

Today we had a large order paid over the phone (manual credit card entry) and they asked for a printed receipt. It was really embarrassing to have to explain that our POS couldn’t print one.  Something is wrong, the print option should be there. Please do something about it.

We are having the same issue. On IPad (square) under transactions only shows option for “text” or “email” receipts afterwords, how do we request to “reprint” another receipt? Thanks

I am sorry you are having issues with this as well. Can you confirm your printer is showing in your printer settings? Also, you do have it enabled to print receipts.

By default, we have set the system to skip printing receipts, considering that the majority of our customers do not require one.  However, after completing a transaction on the Square terminal, how do we print a receipt when a customer asks for one? 

 

Despite having both the app and terminal set up for printing receipts,  there is no print receipt option available under the transactions tab. We can only choose email or text.

Can you try enabling printing receipts? I see in the printer settings you have the option to select manually print so a receipt doesn't print unless you opt for one. Does that resolve it @Carbonic ?
