Having deleted some categories - the remining ones are no longer in  alphabetical order on the checkout screen. This is causing us a lot of grief. Square do not seem to be able to fix it..

Thank you for the details @Nickdobson99 - is this on an iPad / Android device / Square Register? Can you share a screenshot of how it appears currently?

I can try to replicate it on my end. I just have items set up on Retail iOS at the moment and they are in alphabetical order.

Hi @Nickdobson99 - sorry for the delayed response and to hear that you're running into this.

Are you using Square Point of Sale or Square for Retail? How many categories do you have?

Square for Retail Not online.

We have 80 categories each containing 100/200 items. The categories have been set up over a period of time. They were automatically sorted by Square software into alphabetical order.

We deleted a few unwanted categories in early October.

We had to reboot Square to see the results in the Checkout screen.

We then found that a number of categories were now  not in alphabetical order.

Square have come back and said that there is no facility to arrange in  alpha order. This statement is absolute rubbish. As stated above our categories have been automatically arranged in  alpha order by Square software!!

There is a facility in the updated Retail Point of sale facilities that allows you to create a new page on checkout. This is of no help to us. It would take weeks to set up. In any case, the system was working fine for us. Now it is incredibly difficult to locate one category in a bunch of random arranged categories. Its ridiculous.

I have masses of screenshots that back up what I am saying here.

To me this is a system error . (By the way I am a SAP system developer, so I am rigorous and careful in software builds and usage).

And you set up categories which for us represent individual traders and then you add the items they are selling to each category.

the loaded categories should appear in alpha order on the checkout screen
