Make sure when you put your phone on airplane mode, the WiFi is off also. Once you get the yellow banner at the top of the app, or an Offline error. You can turn airplane mode off. It’s working for me .

Come on Square... Get your $#!+ together.... This is the only app that I've found that's not working with iOS 27.x. It's not that difficult to test iOS 27, validate backwards compatibility and get a fix out... Downgrading a device is not possible without configuring the device as a whole new device, loosing previous settings and configurations.

I've found that the issues is directly related to connecting to the V2 Square Contactless hardware reader via bluetooth...

You’re running a developer beta, for developers to test their apps and ensure they function prior to the OS being released.

Prior to install you were informed that things may not work, to back up, and not install on a device you need to rely on daily.

You agreed to all that and went ahead, so you can’t really blame Square?

Certainly, I can hold Square accountable for this issue. The primary purpose of beta testing is to identify and rectify any bugs to ensure the app’s functionality and reliability.

While I may not be in the same predicament as some users, I have a spare device that I have reverted to the production release of iOS 26.x. Although this may not be an ideal situation, it allows me to continue using the app without encountering the bug.

Upon discovering a bug, it should be promptly addressed and an update should be released, regardless of whether the bug was discovered during beta testing. This is especially crucial if the bug causes the app to crash and cease functioning.

This is also why I did not report the issue on the first day. There has now been a Beta 2 of iOS 27. I would expect Square to have found the issue (which revolves around Bluetooth communication with their hardware reader), fix it, and release an update.

As stated above, likely not until the official release of iOS/iPadOD 27, in Septemberish…
