What are advanced modifiers?

What are "advanced modifier" settings that are available in paid Square plans and not available in Square's free version?

Advance modifiers allow you to create a custom item. You can have different types of modifiers based on your item for sale. You can set modifiers to where you can restrict options to a single modifier or allow for multiple modifiers. Think of a plain cheese pizza... lets add half pepperoni and half sausage - oh and then onions and green peppers on the sausage side. Then a side ranch dressing for dipping. Most modifiers will allow for quick easy answers as the guest is ordering and the server is transcribing it to the kitchen to make it super easy for the kitchen to interpret. Hope this makes sense.

Do you have a screenshot of what this looks like in Dashboard?

Aren't all items, at least food items for restaurants, custom items in a sense?

Yes! You are correct. All of your modifiers in Square are custom for each item. I have attached a screen shot of the three levels of modifiers that we have set up for our Bus Stop Burger. In additional to these three sets of questions, servers have to opportunity to make notes to the kitchen in the POS (which I cannot screenshot as I am not in the restaurant at the moment). Our goal is to be simple, be very clear to the kitchen with our customers wishes and to make it right the first time - in a sometimes very fast paced environment.

Okay great- this is what I have been working with. Not 100% confident I can remember the difference between the advanced modifier features in paid/premium vs. free. I'll check my free account and cross ref but if you know off hand, would love to hear your take on how to describe.

Thanks so much- wanted to be confident that I knew what the advanced in advanced meant, haha!

Now I understand the question! Unfortunately, it's been so long since we've used the free version that I can't recall what the differences are. Sorry
