With the new square plus plan that will be forced on us as of February 21, my price goes up $20, from $29 per month to $49 per month. I donโt need all of those extra features, and that is just obscene. I have been a Square customer for the last eleven years, but that is beyond ridiculous and I gain NOTHING from the $240 per year annual price increase, and thatโs not even mentioning the fact that Iโm sure the percentages on individual sales also went up with this new roll out. I will be looking for new systems. QuickBooks has offered me a pretty sweet deal. I want to stay with Square out of convenience, but itโs not worth it if this is how itโs going to be.
If you don't need the extra features why are you using Square Plus? Can't you downgrade to Square Free?
I pay $29 to be able to use Square Appointments, which you can no longer get on itโs own.
I didn't see in your original post that you needed Appointments, I totally understand. Neither Square or Quickbooks offers an รก la carte feature. You may want to revisit some of the features in the Plus group that you may find more useful than you thought. In the end you have to do what you think is right for you and your business.
Perhaps a way forward is if the square system offered a more granular way to select the elements of a package, for example the elements would come in at 2-3 dollars each on the back bone of a $20 core system. Rather than having 3 or 4 tiers of which you only want one slight function from each. It may be something that is a little too complex to program in I suspect, and with all the different subscriptions and functionality...thinking this might be a terrible idea now. Talked myself out of this idea ๐
