Why Can't We Have Discounts by Vendor?

Why can we not apply a discount for a specific vendor? This has been asked and not answered since 2021, as far as I can see. We have some vendors who offer a discount match on their products several times a year and it's more difficult than it needs to be to select their items individually as they can span multiple categories. If you can select by category, why not by vendor?
