Take a lump sum payment and apply to multiple outstanding invoices

I have clients who pay lump sums for multiple invoices whether it is check, direct ach, cash also I have clients who would like to pay multiple invoices to process as one payment on a credit card.  We frequently run into a problems where we are billing the same amount on each invoice and the clients bank will flag the payments as fraud and deny the payment if we try to process too many in a day. 

 

Furthermore, be able to process this at the POS registers would be awesome for those clients who walk in and hand you their credit card and want to pay for 4 invoices on one transaction.

Agreed! Currently, when customers wish to pay multiple invoices in one transaction, we generate a custom amount and note which invoices are being paid on the sale. Then, we go onto the Square Dashboard to mark those invoices as paid by 'Square Point of Sale' to avoid duplicate transactions. However, this process can be quite time-consuming, easily overlooked on busy days, and adds complexity to accounting, even though it remains the most convenient option for our customers.

If there were just an option to be able to select a batch of invoices to pay all at once,especially on POS registers, it would make everyone’s lives much easier.

We have used the custom amount, but we had a not so great experience with it so I am a little shy about using it.  The custom amount did not actually place tax money where it need to be in our reports.
