Swipe-only EFTPOS cards ability in Australia

In the Northern Territory in Australia we have a government card called the BasicsCard which only has a magnetic stripe. We would REALLY appreciate it if Square was able to accept BascisCards. 

Currently, Square EFTPOS terminals do not support swipe-only EFTPOS cards. That means that to accept BasicsCards we have to continue paying for another EFTPOS terminal for each of our locations, even though we specifically bought a Square terminal that can read magnetic strips. 

Services Australia said that all other EFTPOS providers in Australia have the ability to accept swipe-only EFTPOS cards, and they have tried getting Square to set up this capability, but Square has decided not to.

As a customer I'd like to petition for Square to set this up so that we can use Square all the time as our POS system.
