Scan Barcode for Discount

I would like to see a feature were I can put a barcode in to be scanned and accepted as a discount (ie: coupon).  For example I would like to give out $1 off pizza coupons which are provided by my supplier and have a barcode on them, it would be easier for my employees to scan the barcode that is readily available.

I am also waiting on an option to add a bottle deposit without it being taxed!  Been about 4 or 5 months since I brought this to your attention, is there any update?

Hello @jcamp7065 thanks for reaching out with this request.  I've updated it to the "Open" status. This step in the Feature Request process will be a time in which other sellers can add their use cases to your idea to make it stronger and demonstrate further how much it is needed. Later on, we'll re-visit the most popular feature requests in the "Open for Votes" status and bring them to product teams. To other sellers that see this feature, please “like” the post and reply with a use case that your business would have. This will help to signal that this feature request is even more important to address.

I currently do not see a submission on our Ideate Board for adding a deposit to a bottle without being taxed. I would suggest submitting a request there so it can be tracked. Please keep in mind a submission to Ideate does not guarantee that feature will be implemented. We field thousands of feature requests each week here on the Seller Community, and bringing these features to fruition often takes an ample amount of time and effort from our engineers.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe there is a way to print barcodes for discounts? We have several discounts that must be applied manually. We also have 20+ discounts. When our lines are backed up, going in and selecting/searching each one can be time consuming. It would be great if you could scan a barcode and have that discount applied that way.

At this time, the ability to scan a barcode to apply a discount is a feature request. Although this feature isn’t currently available with Square,  To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.

For us, it would be useful to able to put barcode stickers on products that are close to expiring, or we're trying to move for whatever reason, to be able to quickly differentiate between products that get a discount vs. those that don't.

This feature would be very useful for my retail business. I send out many coupons in different regions through different channels and it would make it so much easier to get sales attribution at a granular level with the ability to add barcodes to my coupons. Please prioritize this feature in your backlog!
