Online Site Visibility + Online Sale Price Filter in Item Library

The most recent update on May 7th, 2026 has taken away certain filters in the "Item Library" that we use every day.

The most important filter that it has taken away was the "Online Site Visibility" filter that allowed us to filter by "Visible", "Hidden" or "Unavailable". We used this filter every time we got a new order in to make sure all the items that just came in are Visible on our website. We also use this filter in addition to "Stock Quantity" to make sure we don't have certain items "Visible" when they are no longer in stock.

Another important filter we used was "Online Sale Price" where we could filter "Has online sale price" or "Does Not have online sale price". This filter was used to make sure we didn't have items discounted on our website that weren't supposed to be discounted.

With how many items we have in our Square Item Library, these filters were very important to us and we would like to see them put back.

Yes, this is also a huge issue for us. We have items that we put on preorder, make unavailable when the order window is closed, and make visible again when its available for release. We also make it unavailable when sold out and preload incoming inventory to make live once it arrives. This is an important part of our inventory management. We need this back.

Absolutely agree - yet another Square change without any regard for existing behaviour and customers.

I do see there's a new "Square Online Listing Status" filter, that has the two options "Unlisted" and "Listed".

However, I couldn't check out what Unlisted does because of a bug introduced yesterday where I can no longer see the Site Visibility setting when I expand Channels in the Items display. It's cut off and I can't get to it! You couldn't make this up, could you?

I agree, this new update is reeking havoc all over the place. I'm sure we will find more issues, but we are having major issues, with availabilties of items, unit pricing, visbility of products, and unit types!

Yikes, I HATE when square does these updates, they always cause way more issues than what they fix.

With no announcement of any software update, I am only aware of this change because of the multiple threads here reporting issues.

With regard to the issue being discussed in this thread — the removal of the ability to search by “visibility” — this is going to be extremely problematic. Given the well-documented bug where items regularly change their visibility settings on their own, the fact that I can no longer search my inventory to identify these changes essentially makes it impossible to catch them.

Thanks, Square.

Just came across this fun experience this morning. I'm so tired of Square launching changes that clearly haven't been tested well. I've had the same experience as mentioned earlier.

I agree - the visible, hidden, unavailable functionality along with the sale price filter is vital to our business and this is extremely frustrating that Square just changes things like this without any warning.

They had a notice forever at the top of the item screen that changes were coming. Would have been nice to give us an option to see the item in a view only mode so we could identify any potential issues and give feedback before it was released. If they did offer this ability to test to certain sellers, they didn't choose the right ones who use these now missing functions.

I'm absolutely hating this new update still.

Adding new items, with variations is not working properly whatsoever. I cannot bulk add images prices or anything, if you need more than one variation or option, that doesn't already exist you literally can't - it makes you delete things, instead of adding. It actually doesn't make any sense. The format is weird. Nothing is working properly its actually driving us nuts. It's taken me well over 2 hours to add one new product which is asinine.

The new item creation process is so frustrating!  If you use the auto item creation feature and it creates a "variation" where none should exist, it's impossible to get rid of.  That makes auto creation not usable.  In addition, the category list jumps back to the top of the list with every category checked which leads to endless scrolling.  We use multiple categories to help customers navigate our website, which has thousands of items.  These are just a couple of additional frustrations in addition to the availability/visibility issues that we are all experiencing.

+1 the loss of the online visibility filter has messed us up.

I will also echo the last two commenters who chimed in having all around issues interfacing with item creation and inventory management, I have multiple issues with this side of the new update as well.
