Payment options for classes

I own a fitness studio and we *want* to use square but we need to have the same payment options as we have for services- I need my students to be able to sign up online but have the option to pay in person with a gift card, cash, or card, and I need the ability to give discounts/coupons. 

Right now the ONLY way to let people sign up and pay in person is to set the class fee to $0. If I set the class fee to $10 then it requires them to pay online and gives me no option to discount anything for anyone and no option for cash paying customers. 

The lack of functionality is causing me to explore other studio management options but I really would prefer to stick with Square if these things get fixed.

YES! THIS 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I want to use square because it is simple and the reporting is nice, but the inability to give discounts or have students pay cash (if they sign themselves up online) is a huge issue.

For classes, we take a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold the spot and require the balance 48 hours before the program.  Invoices allows this sort of payment schedule.  If classes could take scheduled deposits/payments, that would clear a hurdle for us using it.

This is exactly what I am in need of for my business structure too as I only host classes. I would love the ability for clients to book any class online to reserve their spot and either set it up to pay in person or charge their card after the class if they actually attended. Also, having an unlimited monthly class option where they can purchase one bundled package and sign up for as many classes as they want without being charged for each individual class.

what are you guys doing in the meantime wbhen they do pay in full and you heck them out class by class without charging those $10.00 who have already paid for the month. It doesn't give the option to add discounts when checking them out from the classes.... HELP!!!!! I don't want it to look like I got more money than I did

I agree, that lack of functionality with the classes, is leaving me exploring alternatives and I really like Square Appointments 😕

@kristen Feedback for square re this issue… talk to the TEACHERS who need this function. While square is a sales platform, if they are adding features- make those features work for the people who will use them! The class function has so many holes it’s quite frustrating.

Like others have said. Overall square is an easy to use platform, but the class function. & limited payment options makes it that we need to use something else.

@kristenI am having the same issues and I am thinking about leaving Square because of the the lack of flexible payment options during online booking.  I would like to have my clients be able to pay when booking or select "pay in person."

Still hoping this feature is implemented, Square appointments has been a great alternative to typical gym software on the 'appointment only' side of things but it would take the cake if much of the features were also available for classes.
Currently having to either manually track people on credits, or assign all members credits and continually top up prepaid members just to work around this feature is not an ideal long term solution.

Cash payments and discounts are a much needed feature of Appointments/Classes. We hope this feature request gets more attention.
