Option to remove or replace No Tip button

Adding the ability to replace the No Tip button with a Custom Tip Button. There has been a large decline in tip% since switching to square because the NO Tip button is right below the other tip amounts automatically. Our old system offered the ability to customize tips any way you want without the No Tip button automatically added to the tip screen.

I've updated the status to "Open". This step in the Feature Request process will be a time in which other Square Sellers can add their use cases to your idea to make it stronger and demonstrate further how much it is needed. Later on, we'll re-visit the most popular feature requests in the "Open for Votes" status and bring them to our Product Team.

We are new to Square and this is news to me. Our old system also had "custom tips" as well as "no tips". I don't mind the "No tips" because we don't want to force someone to tip our staff, but we have some very loyal and generous customers who sometimes tip over 100% of their ticket...they and my staff will be miffed if they lose out! Please add this.

Bump. Like others have said, our restaurant is seeing a lot of customers not leaving tips. Please replace "No Tip" with "Custom Amount".

If there was the option to switch the NO TIP Botton with a CUSTOM TIP Button, then the customer would still have the ability to tip 0 or any amount they choose. If you opt on Square to request tips from customers, why would square force there to be a NO TIP Option on the screen right below % Options?   In a Restaurant or Bar setting With the No Tip Button right below the Tip % Options, we have unfortunately seen the majority of NO TAB sales quickly choose the inconveniently placed NO TIP Button which has resulted in a significant drop in Bartenders Tips in particularly.  

Please Give the Option to switch the NO TIP Button to a CUSTOM TIP Button in tip settings.

Hello @MagsAth !

Currently there is no option to remove the No Tip button. I do recommend posting your request over in the Ideate section of this community. The development teams keep an eye on things over there as they prioritize their next enhancement to the software.

There is an option to add a custom tip button however. On your device: More -> Settings -> Checkout -> Tipping. Scroll to the bottom of this settings page and enable Allow Custom Amounts. I've found that with the custom tips button enabled my percentage of no tip sales went down. Hopefully you see the same

Hi @MagsAth - Welcome back to the Seller Community. I went ahead and merged your latest post here, since you've already submitted a feature request related to this topic in the past.

We currently have some customizable tipping settings that you may find useful for your situation.

1. From the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, tap ≡ More.

2. Tap Settings > Checkout > Tipping.

3. Choose Smart Tip Amounts or Set Percentage Amounts.
4. Choose to Allow Custom Amounts. If Allow Custom Amounts is enabled and the preset amounts are all set to 0%, Square Point of Sale will hide these amounts and display only the Custom Tip Amount and No Tip options.

I would like to see a Cash Tip button instead of No Tip. With printed tickets customers often write Cash or On Table on the tip line. This would help with reporting also if an amount of cash tip could be entered.
