Negative Modifer

I see there has been many requests made for negative modifiers (as far back as 2016). I want to add another request for this. I dont know why its so hard to program a negative mathematical calculation in the software. I have several variations of my sandwiches and i want to add a 'half size' modifier that would discount a specific percent or dollar value. Yes, i could go in and create 8 more variations, but that just adds clutter, wastes time, and would be unnecessary if you would just allow us to do negative amounts. This is just my use case and i have read many others, if you will not make this possible, at least tell us why. Not addressing your customers when you will not make a change for 5+ years is why people leave to use other services.

Agree-I also need negative modifiers in the basic POS.

Yes, please add support for modifiers with negative values.

Definitely add our vote for negative modifiers. It's really dumb that a platform that has been in business for so long has not actually paid attention to what restaurants (their customers) need.

Hi @Carson034, thank you so much for giving us this idea! I am changing the status of this feature request to open so other folks can vote and add comments about how this would help their businesses. I will be back here with any status updates from our product team as we get them. Thanks! 😊

This would also be very helpful for us

We would use this feature for breakfast sandwiches. Currently, if someone orders a breakfast sandwich with 'no egg', I have it set to not add the $3 amount of the protein (bacon, sausage, etc).

Would be easier to deduct the cost from the item price via logic.

This should be an option already.  We would also love to have this choice. PLEASE FIX

Just to give a bit of context of my need for negative modifier. My standard drink usually comes with a topping (because it is better balanced that way. But there are many customers asking for No Topping and I want to subtract the modifier if they decide not to get the topping).

I could make it so that they add the topping themselves for additional cost but I want the default option to be how the original recipe should be (and let the customer remove the topping for a bit less). This makes it more likely that they keep the topping.

Would love to FINALLY see modifiers that are negative. See this all the way back to 2020 in various forms. It would be great if the conversational modifiers allowed you to do this. So, “Add” would place a charge if you assigned one, “Sub” would either assign an UpCharge or none depending on your needs (ex: Sub cheddar for havarti could either be an UpCharge or an even sub), and “NO” would remove cost if appropriate. So, No lettuce is probably not going to remove charges but No Bacon would definitely remove charges. Now, it’s just info for the kitchen but does nothing for the customer’s cost.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback on this feature request. I can understand how valuable negative modifiers would be for pricing adjustments and streamlining order management. While modifiers currently serve as informational for the kitchen, I appreciate your detailed breakdown of how they could better impact pricing.
