How can we exclude an item from the discount ?

Please include a button on each line item/product to exclude an item from a discount. So if we choose to have an item excluded,  we would click on the button that enables it to be excluded. We used to use Shopkeep and they had this function on each line item. So if we choose to exclude an item from a discount, then we can enable it from the item itself.

We don't want to any marketing discount on beers/alcohol. All deals are for food only, alcohol excluded. 

But square does not have way to control it. 

East Solution: Create a Indicator on item Level to exclude from discounting. 

Or allow to create discount rule to select items eligible for manual discounting

It seems at register/check out there really aren't rules to discounts/exclusions- your staff needs to know them. It does make sense for Square to add this functionality.

It make sense when you stand at register and goes thru busy hours. For sure, it does not make sense for person sitting in computer.  

And from the a programming perspective, it is a minor modification. I can code this is it too hard for square.
