Gift CarSplit Payment Functionality

I would like to provide feedback regarding the current limitations of Square Gift Cards when customers book or purchase online.

At present, customers are unable to apply the remaining balance of a gift card and then pay the difference using another card/payment method online. This creates a significant limitation for businesses like mine where gift cards may be purchased for a chosen dollar value rather than for one specific service.

For example, a customer may have a $100 gift card and wish to book a $150 service. They should be able to apply the full $100 gift card balance and simply pay the remaining $50 by card during the same online transaction.

Without this functionality, customers can be left unable to easily use the value they have already purchased, and the business then needs to manually intervene to arrange payment or booking. This creates unnecessary friction in what should be a straightforward online booking experience.

Allowing split tender online — gift card balance + another payment method for the remaining amount would make Square Gift Cards considerably more flexible and useful, particularly for service-based businesses offering experiences at different price points.

I would strongly encourage Square to consider adding this functionality.
