Employee Login for Square Dashboard

Square for Retail has Inventory abilities on IOS.... Cycle Counts etc.

This CANNOT be done in Android, or Chrome Books... PLUS there are no good Scanners for Android phones.  (Not Squares Fault).  Square says if we use anything else other than I pad phones we are basically on our own for invenrtory counts etc.

So being resourceful I found a work around..... using a Chromebook, usb scanner and the Square Dashboard.  This works great for ME doing this as the business owner.  I have extra scanners and Chromebooks for employees to do this too.  BUT they need to be logged in to the OWNERS account.  They can then access the Default Back information and change that etc.

So can square develope a way that has permissions to log in to the back office, similar to the settings for employee pass codes on an Ipad?  I do not want to have to carry my Square Stands all through the warehouse to do inventory. Also buying Ipads and Bluetooth scanners just to do inventory seems rediculous when I have chromebooks and scanners that work already.  There is no RETAIL app for Android or for Chromebooks to be able to do these inventory counts.  Using Chromebooks ($179 - $299) is more cost effective for small businesses over buying the Ipads ($249 and up) pricing is comparing New items on amazon.  Then you also need the Scanner that is compatible, for the IPad that has us using the Bluetooth ($229 at Square) compared to a USB Scanner ($99 also at Square).

My point here is If I could let team members Sign in to the Square Dashboard (even if it is after I sign in) we could use the Dashboard and a Chromebook to do inventory faster then we do now.

Re: Employee Login for Square Dashboard

Hi! This functionality exists today.

When you add a team member with an email, they receive an invite. They can accept the invite and use the credentials to log into the dashboard.

So they do not need to share your owner credentials. If the permissions are setup correctly, then they should have access to do the actions they are permitted by their permission set
