Connect free square domain to new custom domain

It would be extremely helpful to my business if there was a way to connect a new custom domain to my existing free square.site domain. I have dispersed over 1000 business cards featuring my current free domain so I would potentially lose many customers if they are not automatically redirected to a custom (.com) domain if I purchase one.

You could retain both names.  For example, if you are building out a more extensive website, you could create a subdomain under your new site domain to point to your free.square.site.   Then, you can link a button to the new url:   subname.newdomain.com.  Then, advertise either the new domain (since the link will be there anyway) or the sub-domain.  Customers going to the old free.square.site would still be able to reach it.   If you connect your new domain to Square, then you'll lose your free.square.site name.  Unfortunately, Square does not allow the capability to manage DNS or keep site names once released.  Also, a side note, if you update/change your free.square.site name, you may run into trouble with services like Google caching the old link.  I wanted to change our site name and ran into a number of broken link issues that were difficult to resolve.

You can also embed your Appointments page into your custom website.  With both of these options, your URL will not retain your branded domain, however.
