Adjust Price or Manual Price or Custom Price sales report

We want a way to track Manual Price Adjustments on the POS. Specifically; we would want to know who made the adjustment and on what products they are making them on. On our current transactions/receipts it doesn't compare or note that an adjustment has been made.

I asked support and got this response.

I checked the system but unfortunately, we do not have a specific “manual price adjustment” option, in this case, you can only locate the transaction using the filters available in the Dashboard or POS, I apologize.

I still do not have a way to find any transactions that have had manual price adjustments. So, in order for me to find this information currently I would need to run transaction detail for all sales in a day then compare each sale to the current item's sales price.

With the world's prices increasing every day we are making several price adjustments every day. So even if a sale was made earlier in the day, it would currently flag as something that was adjusted.

I would love for us to have a way to either, run a separate report with transactions that have manual price adjustments, or have it tracked in the transactions "Item Detail CSV" report.
Attached is what I think this should look like on the CSV report.

Please let me know if you think this is possible or if I am missing another way to find this information.

You're not missing anything: the Dashboard can't filter for this. But it's possible to find them reliably through Square's API, even with your daily price changes:

- Every line on a Square sale records the exact catalog version it was rung up from, so a script can compare the price charged against the price that was on file at that moment. A price you changed later in the day won't cause a false flag.
- Each payment also records the team member who took it.

So a daily report could list the time, team member, item, price on file, price charged and the difference, and email it to you each evening.

One change helps right away: set up a discount (for example "Price adjustment", variable amount) and have staff use it instead of editing the item price. Discounts show on the receipt and in your Discounts report, so they're easy to spot.

If you'd like, I can build that daily report for you. Want me to send details by private message?
