Add native Google tag gateway support for Square Online

Please add a supported Google tag gateway for advertisers integration to Square Online, including websites and checkout on custom domains.

I run Dragon’s Dream Dumplings and use Google Ads and GA4. Google recommends serving tags and measurement requests through the website’s own domain, but Square Customer Success confirmed on October 30, 2026 (case 123028772) that Google tag gateway is currently unsupported: Square cannot enable it through its own CDN, does not support a customer-managed Cloudflare proxy in front of Square Online, and has no approved partner or server-side gateway method while both website and checkout remain on Square. Support directed me here to request the feature.

Requested functionality:
• A native, provider-managed gateway through Square’s CDN, or an officially supported partner integration.
• A simple setup using an existing Google tag or GTM container and a reserved first-party measurement path.
• Coverage across storefront, cart, checkout, and order confirmation wherever technically possible.
• Respect for consent settings, prevention of duplicate tags/conversions, and preservation of SSL, payment, and checkout behavior.
• Clear health checks, diagnostics, documentation, and a reversible on/off setting.

Standard Google Analytics or GTM code installation and enhanced conversions are useful, but they do not provide this gateway routing functionality.

This would help sellers adopt Google’s recommended first-party measurement setup without unsupported proxy changes or moving their stores off Square. Please consider this for the product roadmap and provide a way for interested sellers to receive updates or join a beta.
