Accepting deposits on Square Appointments

I would like to have the ability to charge a deposit for online bookings through Square Appointments.  Lately, a good portion of clients do not show up for their appointments. I believe this would decrease the amount of no shows. Either that, or generate some small portion of income from deposits to offset payroll costs.

The option to have a customer pay a deposit at the time of booking their appointment is a NEED. We have many customers misunderstanding the process of booking through our Square Appointments because they can see an end price and the deposit amount we need in order to hold their booking time, but are not able to charge JUST the deposit amount. HELP!

We are really in need of a fixed deposit requirement in order to create appointments. The current option of keeping a customer’s card on file in case of a no-show does not positively impact my business.

If someone decides not to show up, they often get extremely frustrated when charged afterwards and may leave negative feedback. They might also dispute the charge for a service they didn’t receive. It doesn’t feel right to charge them as a form of “punishment” for not showing up.

However, when customers pay a deposit at the time of booking, they understand the risk of losing it in case of a no-show and rarely request a refund.

Please allow the option to require a fixed deposit—let’s say $20—to complete an appointment booking. It would make a significant difference.

I will also like this feature. As a photographer services work better than items for booking purposes. I would love the ability to reduce cancelations and no shows. A required deposit solves that problem and it cuts down on communications.

I would not have to send a seperate message asking for the deposit.

This is my #1 feature request!!!! I do not want to charge full pre-payment at booking nor do I want to go through the hassle of changing all my service prices to a deposit amount, putting the full amount as the display price, then calculating what's left at checkout. I really would love the option to charge a percentage of all services for a deposit and also the option to only do it for certain appointments (i.e. if I wanted to charge a deposit for new bookings only but not pre-bookings).
