All about marking Solutions in the Square Community
When you post a question in the Square Community, you may notice the option to “Mark as Solution” on a reply. You may have also received a notification email prompting you to go back to the discussion and select a Solution. This article will describe both what a Solution is and why questions in the community need a Solution marked.
What is a Solution?
A Solution is a reply that helped answer your question. Marking a Solution doesn’t always mean your problem is 100% fixed, it can mean a variety of things, including:
The problem was solved
A fix or workaround was provided
The information shared was valuable
The advice or opinion stood out as the best in the discussion

You’ll get a notification every time someone responds to a discussion you started, making it simple to navigate back to your post to click “Mark As Solution” for the reply that helped you the most.
Why you should mark Solutions
When you mark a Solution, a green checkmark appears on that reply. The answer also floats to the top of the thread, making it easier for others to find. Here’s why this matters:
It helps other sellers. When a Solution is marked, the original question is also marked as "Solved," indicating to others that the question has been resolved.
It improves search results. The "Accepted Solution" icon appears on boards and in search results, enabling other sellers to quickly identify discussions that have found a resolution.
It gives recognition. Marking a Solution acknowledges the community member who helped you, letting them know their contribution was valuable.
Marking Solutions makes it easier for everyone to find trusted answers and helps to keep the Square Community a reliable and speedy resource. Next time someone gives you a helpful reply, be sure to mark it as a Solution. You’ll be helping yourself and other sellers too. We appreciate you pitching in to make it easier to find the best information in the Square Community!
