How to use the Feedback hub in the Square Community

Our 🆕 Feedback hub makes sharing product feedback with Square easier than ever. 🥳 We relaunched a streamlined experience designed to enable all sellers to offer their perspectives and ideas. Read this guide to get started and learn how to use the Feedback Hub.

💡 Feature Requests

First, we’ve consolidated the former “Ideate” boards across the global Square Community into one new space: Feature RequestsThis spot in the Feedback Hub is where sellers post their product ideas, and Square employees respond with status updates. To get started, you’ll want to read Best Practices for Posting a Feature Request. Once you’ve reviewed that article, you are ready to post your idea. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to Feature Requests

  2. Search first, to see if someone else has already posted a similar request you can comment on

  3. If there is no pre-existing thread started, click Submit A Request

  4. Write a descriptive title and post explaining your use case

  5. Publish your post

  6. Community team will acknowledge the request and respond with any news from Product team

Submitting a Feature Request does not guarantee our team will develop the feature, however it does increase the chance that your feedback gets directly to the people who create Square products. This is a simple and quick way to have your voice heard, and the more sellers who comment and like your feature request, the more likely it is to be flagged and assessed by our team.

🗣️ Feedback Discussions

Next, we created one dedicated, global space to post opportunities for giving Square feedback: Feedback DiscussionsThis part of the Feedback Hub is for sellers and Square team members to share chances for participating in beta testing, taking surveys, and giving other product opinions. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to Feedback Discussions

  2. Click Start Thread

  3. Write a descriptive title and your feedback request

  4. These discussions fall into the following three categories:

    • Peer feedback: when you want to ask fellow business owners their opinion on your Square site, your product configuration and setup, etc.

    • Testing opportunity: these posts will come from Square employees seeking beta testers

    • Square feedback request: any other Square employee request including design input, surveys, or direct questions they’d like quick input on

  5. Select the Peer Feedback label, as the others are for Square use only

  6. Publish your post

We encourage you to keep the conversation going by engaging with comments on your post. You will automatically receive notifications in your email when anyone responds to your Feature Request or Feedback Discussion. To learn more about managing your subscriptions and notifications, please read this article.

We are very excited about the launch of the Feedback hub! Our sincere hope is that you find the space simple to use, and you are able to enjoy innovating with us. 🚀
