Hi! I am currently @ 49% paid of my 8th loan with square. Typically offers have come in at around 50-60% since. I have seen a few people mentioning that they now do a soft credit pull and am wondering if this pertains to personal credit or business credit?
Appreciate you taking the time to post.
New offers are not automatically extended when a certain percentage of an existing loan is repaid, but your business may become eligible for a new offer when your existing plan is closer to being repaid. This timing helps to ensure a significant portion of a new loan can be used to reinvest in your business directly rather than repaying your existing loan balance.
Keep in mind that we canโt guarantee that another offer will be extended before or after the current plan is complete. Repaying your existing plan does not guarantee that your business will be eligible for another offer.
Donโt hesitate to contact us directly if you have further questions or concerns.
Here we go!!! 1 more down. It can take 1-3 days, depending on the day of the week and the time you received it. Just watch your dashboard; if no information is needed, it's just a tad behind. There's been a big push! Congratulations again!
Stats and data would be very helpful. It at least gives us an idea of whatโs going on instead of leaving us wondering and guessing. I myself started to question if Square was even still giving loans so this data is good to see.
Transparency would be amazing! We only see the ones who post here, and they are always looking to see what the average is. Yes, Square has increased loan sizes and numbers. We're all a small splash in a big pond. We do help each other stay informed, and that's why this forum is so important and helpful.
I agree 100%. I don't see why stats, data, average loan per day, etc., shouldn't or couldn't be posted quarterly. We can look it up ourselves, so why not pin it to the top? I would think most people would be more aware of, or have a better understanding of, the big picture: how many loans are issued and how many users accept offers. I know I look at it. As a business owner, I am extremely transparent and keep the guys and gals informed. It helps them, as well as explaining why it's a busy week or anything that involves them; they should know, IMO.
Iโve been with square a very long time and this isnโt my first loan . Iโm at 100% paid off and nothing is populating . Iโm usually around 70%-80% . Would love for someone to assist with this . Really would love to get new offer .
unfortuneatly, no one here can send it up to someone to review, it is just the algorithim and who it decides it will offer one of the 5 thousand+ daily loan offers it makes.
Best you can do is keep at it running your business and it may come. If you need to do something, my best advice is to talk to a local bank and see about a revolvong line of credit. It will save you thousands vs a loan as you only borrow it for the week or 3 you need it and only pay interest for that short time period.
Thatโs true โฆ but the weirdest thing happen . All my items were checked in green and now itโs saying for one of them my weekly sales went down so itโs no longer green . So untrue because my sales have boosted . Received offer in January 2026 and paid off 100% yesterday .
My sales are also higher than the previous year, and the pointless metrics are green. So close to paid off with $169 to go and no offer. Ive been with square for over a decade and have had plenty of loans. Just makes no sense.
Hi @Ferocelove26 & @mlynn8503 !
Thanks for posting on the Seller Community.
The information shown on your eligibility page is usually refreshed in real time. We canโt guarantee a loan offer even if the key factors displayed on the eligibility page show all โGood.โ
Thereโs no additional information we can share at this time, and we canโt go into further specifics about program requirements because the criteria we use is proprietary.
Please contact us directly, our Square Loans line is open between 8am-5pm PT Monday-Friday if you want to give us a call.
I wonder if approval varies State by State or region at this point? Iโm in NY, 84% completion, and all green metrics.
There has to be something along those lines or some unspoken criteria that we wouldnโt make logical sense of. Iโve read about people being sent offers hours after the โreviewโ timestamp even when their sales werenโt higher. And Iโve literally seen people state they have gotten offers on off weeks where they have had minimal sales. And then you see folks on here with offers being cut down when their sales are 2x-4x previous year. There just doesnโt seem to be a real rhyme or reason. But I feel itโs not wrong to think there should be a reasonable amount of expectation with this type of product. We borrow, we pay the fees, weโre loyal to their service, yet weโre left in the dark. And most of us are small businesses that truly do benefit from the loans.
All of the above, yes, I've seen stated by users daily. The majority of POS use algorithms, and depending on their metrics, they are set up to fulfill the time stamp, and will keep spinning. It depends on what it's set at to trigger an offer. Currently, it states an increase in sales volumeโnew customers vs. returning customers. That's what is in the process, but your years with Square and prior history are equal. Negatives are a big sting. What goes on outside of Square is also a factor. The economy and the market depend on each other. Then add in the smh offers or the 62% that pop in, and that throws your whole thinking off. I keep pushing along and swipe every day. My sales over the last 2 years are up over 60%! I have hired 3 times now and have offers 3x higher than those, so why would I even consider it would be paid off in 2 months? The saying is that there are no guarantees of IF or WHEN they exist in all POS. I've been with Square since 2014, and I did so for the most part because they were number in the industry and setting the bar. I could guarantee that if I swiped the card, it was in my account, and that hasn't changed. I get it, I hear it and I feel it every day here. I truly wish everyone the best of luck with your offers.
Amen ๐
I donโt disagree with anything youโve had to say. Iโve actually grown quite familiar with you through your responses on these boards for years and years. You have always been one Iโve watched for in responses because I know you watch the boards constantly, and would be aware of new information first as it develops! Ha! Ha! I have a wonderful mix of new and returning customers too, though. And no negatives in my history here. No disputes, no chargebacks. My first loan was in early 2016. Iโve even closed my business in one state as Iโve moved, reopened it and rebuilt it and continued to always have consistent offers on my dashboard. To me, lack of an offer just doesnโt make sense honestly. My business is 20 years old and I canโt see a reason in my history here. It has to be stricter regarding the economy as a whole like some have stated. Iโve never felt the capital is a guarantee, but more so something thatโs to be considered there as long as business continues to grow and thrive. Time will tell!
Hello again! I would have to agree with you regarding outside of Square. Your years, your stats, etc., are all great. I tend to go back to the start of covid and the uncertainty in the lending industry. It was a long, late spring and summer, and then, boom, offers just started popping up all over. You've been around long enough to know when your numbers and business are above the bar on everything, but it does swing and can swing fast. It is good to see familiar users. @Papaya is a great mod back here who really pays attention to what people are saying, so the right people hear the concerns. It really helps when you have users who have been around for a long time and help others understand the process. Thank you!
Hi @mlynn8503
Thank you for sharing your concerns.
I will share your concerns about loan eligibility transparency with the rest of the Square Financial Services team. Please know that weโre constantly working to improve our products and services based on the feedback we receive from customers.
Appreciate you taking the time to post and sharing your experience. Thanks for your patience with us through this process!
My offers usually come an hour or 2 max after my timestamp. I update between noon and 2 pm by 3-4 pm I know if I have an offer unless it's on an Saturday and that could be Monday or sunday.
This might sound silly but how do I check the timestamp?
When you go to the section that says "Your Next Loan" and shows your metrics/Eligibility Factors, it's underneath those in small font. It will say "Last updated" with a time.
Thank you! It's been a busy week!
@mlynn8503 was faster than I was! But the same, easiest way I check, too!
I usually update between 2:30-4:30 at the latest through the week. Weekends seems to be around 11:30-12:30. I'm paid off as of today, so we will see!
