Square loans 2026

Hi! I am currently @ 49% paid of my 8th loan with square. Typically offers have come in at around 50-60% since. I have seen a few people mentioning that they now do a soft credit pull and am wondering if this pertains to personal credit or business credit?

Hi @moxiemavenandco

Appreciate you taking the time to post.

New offers are not automatically extended when a certain percentage of an existing loan is repaid, but your business may become eligible for a new offer when your existing plan is closer to being repaid. This timing helps to ensure a significant portion of a new loan can be used to reinvest in your business directly rather than repaying your existing loan balance.

Keep in mind that we can’t guarantee that another offer will be extended before or after the current plan is complete. Repaying your existing plan does not guarantee that your business will be eligible for another offer.

Don’t hesitate to contact us directly if you have further questions or concerns.

No point in getting mad, or upset how square runs their loan program, at the end of the day we didn’t apply for square just for loans, we used it to take card sales etc and it’s one of the top 5 for payments, I get where some business is in need of it, but it’s all in the business how well your doing, how much payments your taking in, how much new and old clients, etc. since this year I’ve made over 30k in sales as long my business is thriving I’m grateful, yeah could use a boost but don’t really care for it. It comes it comes it don’t it don’t. But definitely if she wants please take a look but I just believe it’s due to the fact it hasn’t been a year since the dispute. As long I’m not getting any more and as long I keep swiping I’m sure an offer will come. Just a matter of time.

Unfortunately, that's all we can do! It always seems to be when you need it it's never around and when you don't then the offer comes in. Good luck to you!

Have you tried calling into accounts to ask for a qualification? You have to get past customer service and go to accounts. Explain your account, provide supporting documentation, and let them know you would like to upload your court papers and have your account reviewed. By doing so, they can tell you where it stands and what they are looking at to get your account back to green and not need work. They should be able to correct the metrics so that they reflect what you or we can see. If not, I've seen some for a year or more, and others for 6 months. WE also have to remember it's a computer, and we have to reach a human for clarification and help. You are a prime example of the perfect customer, along with others. You swipe and swipe, and when you have your first issue, you should be able to reach out immediately and have someone look into it. I know what you do back here, and I appreciate it and the help you provide. Now, it's time for you to reach out. If you don't get the right help at first, thank them and wait a few minutes, and call back. It's no different from any other call center: you need the right person to listen to you and get you to the right person. It's time 😉 I can tag all day but if the ones I'm tagging aren't here it's not helping you. Please just call on Monday and take care of yourself and your business. Good luck! You need anything else please tag me ok.

@Twpchair yes I called this morning, apparently everything is good on they’re end but didn’t tell me why it says needs work, just says it takes time to change on the dashboard, still update everyday but still says needs work, been 100% paid off since Jan 22nd. I believe this is my 3rd or 4th loan figure I get a offer thrown but idk

You got through to accounts and not customer service? Did you explain why it was there? Mine in early January threw up a red flag over getting locked out multiple times in a week due to a new phone and the new number it would update the new information when I called in, but the next day it kicked it out again. 2 weeks of this and boom up pops needs work in accounts. I called and got a random yes. It will be updated and reflected soon. No, I said it will update while I am on the phone with you, and I want the “needs work” removed while we are on the phone. Long hold, and they requested information about the change and why. I sent and uploaded the information right there. I got a bad phone right out of the box and sent it back in. New number due to 2 weeks dealing with the cell phone company, ugh. Uploaded that information. An hour and a half later, it was done and done right, and the needs work in accounts was gone and green again. If I can get a person who listens to me and I replied multiple times, it had nothing to do with a loan, but I needed to update the system to recognize the new device and update all the information that would last not just overnight. 3 or 4 Reps later, I got a very nice one who helped.

I don't and won't give up till it is working properly. If it isn't off in a couple of days, call back, hun. Don't mention the L would at all. Just repeat: you have NO disputes, and you would like it removed now, please. It has been long enough; you need to see your workflow metrics and compare daily, weekly, and monthly. Your business needs to run sales or discounts. I'll wait while you do it.  Thank you so much. That one area is vital for an offer, and you had one in all your time open and one that it. It's affecting you, and you want it removed now, and not oh, it will fall soon. This is NOT about an offer, but your account and the tools you need to run and compare stats properly. They can't determine your loan or offer, or won't. They can fix your account status with the right Rep. With as much time you've spent to win your 1 dispute, it's not too much to ask for them to help remove something that day, over all this time, especially given how dedicated, loyal, and helpful youare to Square. We have to take control and put in the work, and the key is getting to someone who will listen. Good luck to you. Please keep me posted, and don't forget it has nothing to do with an offer, but getting your account addressed and fixed while you wait. Without us, there is no them. You might see it as you're just 1 person, but it adds up.

I've noticed my laste 3 loans I didn't get a new offer until about 3 to 4 days after the loans were completely paid. I use to get them once I hit 75% paid.

Hi @LoCoPizza

Appreciate you writing!

New offers are not automatically extended when a certain percentage of an existing loan is repaid. While you are not currently eligible for an offer, your account is automatically reviewed daily to determine eligibility. If you become eligible again, we’ll notify you directly through email and your Square Dashboard.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us directly!

I'm gonna assume this is a generic and automated response.

Unfortunately, we all got used to that 75% and almost guarantee of a loan. Those days are gone for the most part. You will still see the random mid-60s to 70s but mostly 85%-to paid off. Each person is different and how we process but on the whole it's been trending higher. Good luck to you!

This definitely seems to be the trend, and also makes sense for the consumer, so that your new loan goes all to you and not a big chunk to pay off the previous loan.

Square consumer lending was up 69% year over year, so it isn't going anywhere, but may seem rare when there are millions of Square users, and even giving out thousands of loans a day seems like nothing, but is actually huge amounts in total.

I just wanted to check if this is happening only to me or to everyone. With my new loan, I don’t see the eligibility criteria section with the green “Good” indicators. It’s not there at all. When you click on the Loans icon and go to the loan page, then press the current balance square, it takes you to the round percentage page. Normally, after that, you can click “More details” and see the eligibility details with the green “Good” and “Needs work” signs. However, there is no option to click “More details” anymore.

Is this the same for everyone?

Hoping to also receive a offer soon,

it seems I have higher volume than most I have seen here, with more or less 3000 transactions a month as a high volume cafe.

I normally get a new offer around 70% which I’m hoping for again. Was hoping to get any insights but I’m good and green on all factors. Looks like just a waiting game but I wish square would adjust the algorithm or have manual reviews for loans that are more than 60%.

We do a little over 12,000 transactions in a month and are always in the green and getting new offers, but we never take them, so I can't say when we would get offered again.

It definitely seems the trend is safety of getting loans fully paid back and then new offers, which makes sense in the long run otherwise you are using a big chunk of your new loan to pay off your old loan, which benefits you the consumer less.  There are still tons of new loans a day, but when there are millions of users thousnads of loans a day doesn't seem like a lot when you are out there looking for one.

Square consumer lending was up 69% year over year, so it isn't going anywhere.

Besides 1 or 2 that check in here, it's been very slow going. On the whole, it's been a higher percentage of users who've paid back. You still see the odd 60-70% pop in, but they know what Square is looking for and kick it in. Keep processing as much as possible and increase the volume of swipes. The other is new customers vs old. NO negatives! You are trying to get the algorithm is pick you and see the increase in sales and no negatives. Good luck keep us posted please 🙏 it helps others

I'm Kris with Heavenly Lawn Services here in Florida! I love Square they have been a great processing partner!

They helped free up our time with payments with the save a debit card feature! We went from $33,000 the first year starting out to a whopping $118,000 a year revenue with sales and customers still climbing especially with spring 🌼🌱 weather already here in Florida we are looking for another spectacular year with Square as always!

96% of all months year round have been a record each year with growth 📈

Also noticed a lot of comments recently in regards to square cutting back on loans and or making new restrictions on business loans. Square capital has always brought peace of mind. Even if you just throw it in the bank and leave it unless there's large purchases. . Square has been a great partner and highly recommend them for business growth and automation for any small business. Currently 75% paid on the 5th current loan ....Hope to do more business with square loans. The algorithm has definitely gotten more strict in terms of offers. But one will come...

God bless our small businesses, we maintain high volumes of customers starting out without workers. No one knows best the ups and downs like the owners do.

I did this in August! I have been with Square for about 10 plus years and have seen the ups and downs. In August I really didn't need a loan but the offer was too good to pass up and I was completely paid off. I took the offer and right in the bank it went. January was a horrible weather I could had that to dip into. Great advice. Good luck!
