multi-feature request

Hello,

Current user of Square as a means to collect payments but a former user of Square Appointments, hoping to request some features so I can switch back to using Square for scheduling with my music students. I currently use Acuity Scheduling on my Squarespace hosted site.  This system works for me as it has many useful features that have not only streamlined my business, it has shown to be profitable as well by saving me time. However, I still prefer Square's user interface and would like to see some of the following features added so I can switch back.

For context, I am music teacher with students that schedule weekly.

  • Options to set up appointment packages and allow the customer/client/student to schedule their own appointments.
  • the ability to export an unpaid appointment into or from an invoice to customer/client/student
  • ability to "bank" pre-paid appointments.
  • ability to implement afterpay as a payment method.
  • ability for custor/client/student to apply discount codes online
  • ZOOM INTEGRATION (to be honest, I'm surprised this hasn't been integrated already because I assume COVID moved a lot of businesses online).

Hey I noticed that you pointed out some features that some of those features are available.

#1 students can book their own appointments in the service option when you add services integrated with your booking site

#2 you have options to allow customers or force them to pay for the given amount for an appointment when they book so as they are booking in order to book an appointment they would have to put in a payment first and pay that amount. And secondly you also have the option to send invoices via email and text to customers in the invoice app and you can set reminders and also split payments if you have a subscription with square and you have the option to send it to them via text or email and they can pay directly there.

Lastly they just offered afterpay for the online feature where you have items up for sale and it gives a customer an option to pay it in increments but I believe you get the full amount when someone purchases an item

@ashaahleee Thank you for your response.

#1 I am aware that clients can be given the capability to book their own appointments and liked the option when I used Square Appointments. However, this particular bullet point is referencing the inability to purchase an appointment package. The only workaround I've seen after reading through community posts regarding this matter is invoicing for a quantity services.  This creates a cumbersome  process of creating invoices, waiting for the client to satisfy the invoice and then manually scheduling the appointments...which by the time the first two steps have been completed, the slot could be booked by another student. Though I'm not a fan of the user interface (as my students find it confusing more often than not), Acuity Scheduling offers the setting up packages to which the student receives a code to then schedule their appointments at their leisure. Acuity's process requires very little from the seller.

#2 I am also aware of that workaround. I have even provided users with that exact workaround in this forum in regard to linking invoices to appointment(s). However, the workaround is only sort of available through the Invoice app, not on web. Though I now have moved my selling model to pre-payment, one of the main gripes I had while using Appointments is when I did allow students to pay at their appointment or even after,  it was also a cumbersome process to track which appointments were paid for with what invoices.

Part of the reason I am looking into the possibility of coming back to Square Appointments is BECAUSE they introduced Afterpay but I have not seen where it's confirmed that clients can BNPL while booking/paying for services as well. As far as I can tell it can only be used in retail (selling items) using Square Online.

As I said the user interface and overall design at Square is generally very streamlined and easy to use, my students rarely had any issues w being confused about how to book their appointments. However, I cannot imagine being able to switch back until at least appointment packages, ability to "bank" appointments and ZOOM integration has been implemented.

I really love Square as a company and all that they offer...as stated in original post I still use them to collect payments and send invoices to a couple of students, but some of these features have been requested FOR YEARS and there seems to be no movement on making the changes or even explanation as to why they won't be implemented.
