Training module for square POS registers

We find square to be useful however certain requests that could be fulfilled would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to make a request for a training module mode for the square registers.  I feel if my staff has the ability to train without penalty of screwing up our daily reports, changing inventory or being hesitant, they could really flourish faster when they are asked to cashier, "practice makes perfect". It would also free up the "mentor" faster to tend to other duties.  Furthermore we would not have to be so cautious and overbearing on the trainees transactions and needing to refund them.  (because refunds do not go back onto the reports of gross sales number it is a seperate line item)  I copied pasted the discussion that is read only and tagged a few people however this thread had over forty interactions.

Training Mode

Status: New Request

We're switching over from our current POS system to Square and have a question.

Is there a training mode available through Square? A way to train employees without it showing up as an actual sale?

Hey there, @ehflower - 

Thank you so much for bringing this over to the Ideate Board. I know this has been a big request from our sellers across all platforms. A training mode or module would allow owners and employees to figure out the system without leaving any permanent record for the business. 

As of now, this is not planned on the roadmap. Keep tagging any sellers you know that would be interested in this feature too. It will show our Product Team that it is still highly desired from our sellers. 

Once more information is available, a Community Moderator will come back to update the status on this one.

 Why would is this request "not currently planned". 

going through and canceling/refunding charges that did not exist because the employer or manager needs to train the employee makes the end of day reports very messy and confusing.  Plus if you do train and use the employers credit card sometimes items might not be refunded properly.  

a training module has been requested for many years and yet seems to be dismissed.  You could also use it as a trialing demo on your website to show prospective clients of how easy it is to use square.    All other Point of sale systems have a training module (the cash drawer does not even open for this type of mode,  some of the POS the screen turns a different color and makes noise to remind individual that it is training mode) @bookshop @amerykaok  @Broken_Hearts
