At the moment, we don't have a training mode, but you can create test payments on your own account.
While we recommend that you not take too many test payments, we understand that it’s important to see how the app works in real time with everyday transactions.
You can enter $1 as a test and after going through the payment flow, each person can issue a refund back to their own card.
While there’s not currently a way to delete these test transactions, you can definitely process a refund instead. It won’t remove the transactions from your history, but refunding the transaction will balance your books.
I also suggest adding a category of "test" to place "test items" in, so your staff can find different items at teh register that might have different sizes, quantities, modifiers, etc.
they should all be like 45 cents or whatever, so you can show the staff how to make modifications to the ticket.
there is no way to run test transactions thru square. It is a feature I have asked for for 2 years, a traning mode if you will.
Only thing I can say is to run very low amounts so that it doesn't throw off your accounting. once a transaction goes thru it is permanent and can not be deleted, even if it was an error.
@VanKalkerFarms - Thanks for the help with answering this one. This is definitely a feature request that we've heard from multiple sellers. I'll be sure to pass along the feedback!
In the meantime, you could consider creating an extra test account to try things out on. Afterward you could deactivate it.
I've moved your post to this existing thread, as it sounds like you were training staff and ran a few test transactions in the process.
Unfortunately, you're not able to delete any test transactions that you've taken while training or testing the Point of Sale app.
While you can't outright delete transactions, you can refund them and note that they were test payments for the reason of the refund to balance out your books.
There should be a training mode that can be entered. It could mirror the live site as set up and and just not add any sales to the live recode keeping sight. When a card is scanned it would run just like the system is actually charging the card and transmitting data without it actually doing so. When you go back to the live mode nothing has to be refunded and books are kept in order.
