Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a beta for accepting partial payments with Square Invoices!

This new feature will allow you to create a single invoice and track multiple payments on that invoice. This may also be useful for those of you who want to accept a deposit and collect the rest of the amount due later.

We know this is a feature many of you have been waiting for, so I hope you’ll help us test it out!

Will customers have the option to pay the remaining balance with Square Installments? Currently the Installments option only shows up on an invoice that doesn't request a deposit.

Hi @Howard - I have the BETA installed and sent my first invoice requesting a deposit from a customer. On my end, IOS 12.1, Mac High Sierra 10.13.4 I can only mark the full amount as a recorded payment. Any advice on just marking the deposit as paid, and not the full invoiced amount?

Attached is the only action I see within the BETA.

At this time, you can only charge the full amount from a device. If you need to charge a partial amount in person, you can select "shared" and have the customer pay the invoice from the link.

Payments on the deposit amount in person is not supported at the moment.
