Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a beta for accepting partial payments with Square Invoices!

This new feature will allow you to create a single invoice and track multiple payments on that invoice. This may also be useful for those of you who want to accept a deposit and collect the rest of the amount due later.

We know this is a feature many of you have been waiting for, so I hope you’ll help us test it out!

By using partial payments and providing us feedback, you will directly influence and improve the Square Invoices product. So please share your reactions and input.

I was approved for testing partial payments and used it once and was happy with how it worked. 

I thought I lost the ability, but realized you have to make the invoice on the desktop browser!!

I did just download the TestFlight mobile beta (iOS) beta which allows partial payments on mobile and I don’t see the option there.

Not sure if you know how to activate it on the beta app?

I am thrilled to see that this os available. I have been thinking about not us ing the Square invoice feature and moving to paypal due to the lack thereof. I need this often as my invoices are for large events that require down payments. I would also like to see a recurring payment option on here so they may spread out the payments.

Absolutely!  I have been waiting for this feature since I started using Square.  As a photographer, my business model for most of my products and services is a 50% deposit up front, with the balance due upon acceptance of deliverables.   I've had to create invoices, slap on a 50% discount, then copy the invoice and send that out at the end of the job.  

Being able to take that deposit and balance later for a single invoice will make my life much easier, be less confusing for my customers and keep my bookkeeper from going crazy.
